Ashlynn Boedecker, Ph.D.

Ashlynn Boedecker, PhD

Dr Ashlynn Boedecker is a recent graduate from our PhD in Biology program. Dr Boedecker’s research in the Scott lab resulted in her successful defense titled “The role of dissolved gas fluxes on the biogeochemical evolution of lakes”. Following her graduation from our program, Ashlynn will be a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Ohio State.

“My time at Baylor was honestly awesome. I worked in probably the coolest lab in the department, and I learned a lot about the internal workings of lakes and how to take apart and reassemble machines.”

Yang Yang, Ph.D.

Yang Yang, PhD

Dr Yang Yang is a recent graduate from our PhD in Biology program. Yang’s research in the Simmons lab resulted in his successful defense titled “Oncomodulin regulates calcium signaling in cochlear outer hair cells and protects hearing from noise”. Following his graduation from our program, Yang will be serving as a Post-Doctoral Fellow with Dr Hongbo Zhao at the Department of Surgery-Otolaryngology at Yale University Medical School.

“I have enjoyed my journey in Cell, Molecular, Health, and Disease (CMHD) program in Biology. The supportive atmosphere and the guidance from my mentor and peers have been invaluable in helping me expand my horizons and delve deep into my research interests. I am grateful for the valuable knowledge and skills I have gained, and the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant minds here.”

Jeanne Samake, Ph.D.

Jeanne Samake, Ph.D.

Dr Jeanne Samake is a recent graduate from our PhD in Biology program. Jeanne’s research in the Carter lab resulted in her successful defense titled “The evolution and dispersal of the invasive malaria vector, Anopheles stephensi: A genomic approach”. Following her graduation from our program, Jeanne will be serving as a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Center for Disease Control.
